« back to classes page
Volunteering benefits volunteers, as well as the people and organizations that are served. It is a way to contribute to our community while also improving our own outlook on life. This session will explore: ten ways volunteers can benefit from their community service; how COVID, government regulations and technology are changing the world of volunteering; how volunteers can connect with local service opportunities through the AmeriCorps RSVP program for those aged 55+; and how to find and sign up for service opportunities through the “Get Connected” portal on the United Way of West Florida website. Bring your questions, enthusiasm and maybe even a digital device. You will gain knowledge about volunteering, participate in a service activity and have the opportunity to register for RSVP and/or “Get Connected” before the session ends.
